Lucille Opdahl, 88, Emmons

Lucille E. Opdahl, 88, of Emmons, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmons Lutheran Church with the Rev. Julie Fiske officiating. Burial will be in Lime Creek (Stateline) Cemetery, rural Emmons.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills and will one hour prior to services at the church.

Lucille E. (Carow) Opdahl was born March 28, 1919, in Edgeley, N.D., to Frank and Emma (Huper) Carow. She graduated from Edgeley High School and went on to attend teacher&8217;s training in Wells. Lucille then taught school in Freeborn County.

On June 14, 1942, Lucille was united in marriage with Orrin Opdahl in Edgeley, N.D. The couple had four children, and made their home on a farm in Mansfield Township. In later years, the couple moved into Emmons ,where she resided until 2004, when she moved to Oak Park Place in Albert Lea.

Survivors include her children, Stan (Deb) Opdahl of Albert Lea, Mona (David) Mitton of Forest Lake, and Joyce (Clyde) Bronson of Glenville; grandchildren, Chris (Nik) Brown-Iwaniw of Des Moines, Iowa; Michael (Pam) Masiello of Ankeny, Iowa, Karen (Shaun) Goldsworth of Clive, Iowa, Sarah (Brian) Ball of Albert Lea, Carla (Jason) Ladd of Spring Valley, Dan Opdahl of Brooklyn, N.Y., Andra (Mike) Rasmussen of Eagle River, Ark., Rachel (Lance) Bodeen of Eagle River, Ark., Logan Mitton of St. Paul, Matthew (Diane) Bronson of Forest City, Iowa, Jonathan (Jessie) Bronson of Preston, and Adam Bronson of Kensett, Iowa; 16 great- grandchildren; a sister, Grace (John) Rains of Bloomington; two brothers, Clarence (Carvella) Carow of Edgeley, N.D., and Ray (Marlene) Carow of Berlin, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orrin; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Anthony Masiello; and two sisters, Irene Knudtson and Evelyn Thomas.
