ROCHESTER &8212; The Albert Lea boys&8217; tennis team opened its season Monday afternoon with a 314-338 Big Nine loss to Rochester Mayo at Oak Summit in Rochester.

&8220;I wasn&8217;t very happy with our scores,&8221; said Tigers head coach Riley Worth. &8220;Even for the first match of the year I was pretty disappointed, the margin of victory was pretty embarrassing.&8221;

The top scorer for the Tigers was Grant Stadheim with an 81, followed by Mike Faulk 82, Tyler Brackey 87, and Casey Marka 88. Sam Matheson and Tyler Halland added an 89 and 91 respectively.

The Tigers will play their first home match of the year when they host Rochester Century Thursday afternoon.
