The Twin Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America announced Aaron Foster as the new representative for the Southern Trails District. The Southern Trails District is a service area in southern Minnesota comprised of Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, and Explorer Posts registered in all communities within Mower, Freeborn and eastern Faribault counties. Some of the communities represented with active Boy Scout programs include Albert Lea, Alden, Austin, Clarks Grove, Glenville, Hayward, Kiester, Minnesota Lake, New Richland and Wells.
A total of 854 youths were registered in various programs throughout the district in 2007.
Foster has been a small business owner in the areas of media and marketing for over 12 years and has actively worked with youth through church and sports programs. He is the high school softball coach in Northwood, Iowa and also a certified official for the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Aaron currently resides in Northwood, Iowa (just south of the state border) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwood Chamber of Commerce.
Foster said he is excited to get back into Scouting as he has fond memories of his journey through Scouting starting in second grade as a Cub Scout to just missing his Eagle rank while in Boy Scouts back where he grew up in Boone, Iowa.
He was elected into the Order of the Arrow and experienced several campouts and other memorable adventures he took with his troop.
Foster and his wife, Melissa, have a 3-year-old miniature dachshund.
