Clara Krause, 86, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Clara E. Krause, 86, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Clara died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Albert Lea Medical Center after a brief illness.

Clara was born on May 21, 1921, to Isaac and Olga Anderson in New York Mills. She was one of nine children. Clara graduated from New York Mills High School in 1939. After graduation, she worked in Minneapolis at the FORUM cafeteria where she met her future husband, Vern. They lived in Wisconsin, Indiana and Colorado prior to moving to Albert Lea in 1962. Clara worked as a homemaker and then as a pharmacist assistant at Northpark Drug Store from 1965 to 1971, when she retired to do childcare for her grandchildren. Clara enjoyed sewing, baking and playing dominoes with her birthday club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Gerald) Frydenlund of Albert Lea, Peggy (Arlen) Holland of Chaska and Shirley (Jim) Cook of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Travis (Denise) Frydenlund, Kirsten (Jesse) Rueckert, David Holland, Chris Holland, Michelle (Blue) McDonald and Nicole (Jamey) VanGelder; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma (Victor) Buth; brothers, Erwin (Jean) Anderson and Marvin Anderson; brother-in-law, Harold Krause; many nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 55 years, Vern, in 2001.
