Donald Joseph Walk, 79, died April 4, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E., Mason City, Iowa.

Inurnment will be in the Tower Columbarium Niche, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

Donald Joseph Walk was born Sept. 10, 1928, the son of Edward and Ruby (Rondeau) Walk. He graduated from the Marinette High School, Marinette, Wis.

Donald was drafted into the United States Army, and later honorably discharged. Donald was united in marriage to Vera B. Pfaffl on Jan. 3, 1953, in Menominee, Mich.; to this union two children were born.

Donald worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad holding various positions; retiring after 40 years of service in December of 1988. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, cars, traveling and going south for the winter months. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, American Legion and past member of the Moose Lodge.

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years Vera B. Walk, Mason City, Iowa; children Sandra (Larry) Krueger, Eagle Lake, Jeffrey (Yvonne) Walk, Jacksonville, N.C.; grandchildren Gene (Karla) Barnes, Killeen, Texas, Brandie (Tim) Rowe, Elkhart, Ind.; great-grandchild Eva Barnes; brother-in-law Orville Jacobson, Marinette, Wis.; nephew Brian (Vicki) Summers, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; cousins Joanne (Ron) DuCharme, Alice (Jerry) Bero, Pat (Sharon) Pfaffl, Betty Pfaffl; along with other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, infant sister Patricia Walk, sister Marge Jacobson, brother Edward Walk and cousin Jerry Pfaffl.
