Editorial: It was a perfect day to be outdoors

After all that gloomy and blustery weather, it was nice that Albert Lea had a sunny, calm and beautiful day on Sunday.
Children dropped their videogame controllers and their TV remote controls, got up off the couch and ventured to the Albert Lea parks. They were shooting hoops, kicking around soccer balls and skating at the skate park, among other activities.
Some grown-ups rode their motorcycles and bicycles, while others tended to their lawns and gardens. Many people ran, walked or leisurely pushed strollers along the lake. And, yes, the day went to the dogs. They had the most fun.
Every year winter brings Minnesota deep into the cold and summer delivers sweaty, sweltering humidity. Enjoy and appreciate the perfect days of spring (and fall) when you get them.
