Henry Krueger, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Henry William Krueger, 94, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Wendy Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery of Pickerel Lake. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Henry died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.
Henry William Krueger was born Nov. 6, 1913, on the family farm in Alden Township, Freeborn County the son of Frank and Matilda (Heidemann) Krueger. Henry was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake; where he was baptized, Nov. 13, 1913, and confirmed, April 10, 1927, by the Rev. H. F. Pfeiffer. He attended school districts 40 and 140. Henry farmed with his father and purchased the family farm in 1945. On April 12, 1953, Henry was married to Hilda Fogel at Concordia Lutheran. Henry served on the church council and was also on the Alden Township Board. In 1989 Henry and Hilda moved to Albert Lea. Henry and Hilda were St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home Volunteers of the Year in 1993 and Freeborn County Senior Citizens of the Year in 1994.
Henry is survived by his children, Susan and her husband Wayne Erickson of Albert Lea, Delores and her husband Donald Stenzel of Plymouth and son, John Krueger and his wife Lynn of Alden; grandchildren Heather Meyer and her husband Thomas of Kiester, Holly Erickson of Albert Lea, Katie Erickson of Hopkins and her fianc/ Christopher Lee of Glenville, Kent Erickson of Brookings, S.D., Caitlin and Melissa Estlow of Plymouth and Mark and Ross Krueger of Alden; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Elizabeth Meyer of Kiester; sister and brother-in-law, Arnold and Erma Levisen of Albert Lea; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife Hilda in 2005; his parents; brothers George, Edward and Theodore; and sister, Emma Wacholz.
