Maxine Ericsson, 86, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Maxine Welda (Kaus) Ericsson of Albert Lea were at 10:30 a.m. today from Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa, at 3:30 p.m. today. Visitation was Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Maxine died on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Thorne Crest Retirement Center.

Maxine Welda Ericsson was born on Oct. 12, 1921, in Quimby, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret (Benson) Kaus. She attended and graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1940. While in school, Maxine was a member of the high school basketball team. On Aug. 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lester Ericsson in South Sioux City, Neb. Maxine worked for a time during the war in the drafting department at Albertson&8217;s Manufacturing. In 1965, the family moved to Anoka where she enjoyed being a wife and mother. The couple moved to Albert Lea in November of 1979. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, watching the Minnesota Twins and just helping anyone who needed it. Maxine attended Calvary Baptist Church where she would take part in anything that needed to be done.

Survivors include her husband Lester of Albert Lea; children; Larry and wife Sandy Ericsson of Norwalk, Iowa, Janice and husband Ernie Busack of Echo, Pat and husband Jim Long of Bradford, Ark., Kenny and wife Yolanda Ericsson of Moorpark, Calif., Valerie and John Reynolds of Anoka, and Eric and wife Nilanga Ericsson of Shakopee; grandchildren: Chris, Aaron and wife Jeannie, Christine and husband Jeff, Daniel and wife AnnMarie, Marcus, Anna, Lucas, Richard and wife Corrine, Donica, John Jr., Cassondra and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Brianna, Hunter, Max, Ella, Olivia, Jenna and Joey; brother, Mansfield Kaus of Riverside, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; step father; sister, Iela Dean; grandson-in-law, Tim Getchell; step sister, Virginia Mitchell; and step brother, Richard Rowe.
