Nancy Delger, 49, Albert Lea

A celebration of life for Nancy Marie Delger, 49, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate and the Rev. Kent Otterman will give a special reflection on Nancy&8217;s life.

Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.

Nancy was welcomed into paradise on Monday, April 21, 2008. She was set free from her battle with cancer at home in the comfort of family and special friends.

Nancy Marie Delger was born June 27, 1958, to Harold and Evelyn (Williamschen) Neist in Albert Lea. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Nancy attended Albert Lea schools, graduating in 1976. She married her high school sweetheart Randy J. Delger on July 29, 1978, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Randy and Nancy resided and raised their family in Albert Lea. Nancy attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities and graduated with an associate degree in nursing from Austin Community College. She was a dedicated and caring nurse employed at Good Samaritan Society as assistant director of nursing. The staff and residents at Good Sam held a special place in Nancy&8217;s heart. Nancy also served as a board member for Cedar Valley, was active in Relay for Life and the Albert Lea Girls&8217; Basketball program. She had a passion for bubble baths, People Magazine and a good bowl of ice cream. She will continue to be known for her infectious smile and sarcastic sense of humor.

Nancy dedicated her life to her family. She found joy in the activities of her children. She was very involved in her daughters&8217; athletic and dance endeavors and took pleasure in her shopping trips with her son.

Nancy loved being &8220;Mema&8221; and treasured the times spent playing games, reading books and cuddling. Her grandchildren will never forget their trips with her to Toys-R-Us, stops at SuperAmerica for slushies and family vacation to Disney World.

Nancy and Randy shared 34 years of loving memories. Randy will forever cherish her warm tender touch.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Randy; children, Heather and Tommy Sadauskis, Travis Delger and Afton and Phil Wacholz; grandchildren, Zane and Zoe Sadauskis and Nevaeh Wacholz; father, Harold Neist and special friend Doris Bakke; mother-in-law Sharon Nelson and special friend Richard Helland; father-in-law, Jim and wife Gwen Delger; grandparents-in-law George and Eldy Lang; brothers, Gary Neist, Roger and wife Beth Neist, Earl and wife Gayle Neist, and Rollie and wife Sheila Neist; sister-in-law Roxie and husband Steve Poliak; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her very special &8220;Bosom Buddies&8221; and their families: Maribeth Walton, Sharon Evenson, Lynda Everhard, Denise Anderson, Joy Shaft, Theresa Thorland and Renae Peterson.

Nancy is now reunited with her mother, Evelyn Neist; step father-in-law, Earl K. Nelson; and her grandparents.

Nancy will always be remembered for her generous heart. She centered her life on giving to others and appreciated the many people who gave of themselves to support her during her times of joy and illness. Her family and friends would like to thank the community of Albert Lea, the Good Samaritan Society and Crossroads Community Hospice for their outpouring of generosity.
