Neil Larson, 77, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Neil Gordon Larson, 77, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by Freeborn County veterans organizations. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Neil died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at his home.
Neil Gordon Larson was born on Jan. 3, 1931, to Cleon and Sarah (Haugen) Larson. He grew up in Rake, Iowa, and went to school there. Neil entered the United States Army in the late 1940s and served in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. Following his discharge from the service, Neil moved to Alden and worked as a mechanic. He later moved to Albert Lea where he worked for ALMCO as a machinist. Neil retired in the early 1990s. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include his brother, Curtis (Sharon) Larson of Gore, Okla.; sisters, Sandra Shure of Blue Earth and Delores (Lloyd) Kraushaar of Albert Lea; several nieces and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Wayne Larson.
