Noreen Burdick, 78, Lake Mills

Noreen E. Burdick, 78, of Lake Mills, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills with the Rev. Wendi Gillan officiating. Burial will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery, Lake Mills.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St., Lake Mills, and will one hour prior to services at the church.
Noreen Elaine (Vinge) Burdick was born on Sept. 12, 1929, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Nels and Amanda (Hefta) Vinge. Noreen attended and graduated from Emmons High School in Emmons with the class of 1948. Following graduation, she was employed at the Northwestern Bell telephone company in Albert Lea for three years.
She was united in marriage to Ronald Tapager Burdick on Feb. 4, 1951, at Lime Creek (Stateline) Lutheran Church in rural Emmons.
Ronald and Noreen moved to the Burdick family farm, raised their three children, and remained on the farm their entire married life.
Noreen enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, growing flowers, and traveling. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and of her active involvement in the Democratic Party over the years. Having three grandsons brought great joy to Noreen&8217;s life.
Noreen was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was active in the Naomi Circle and in the United Methodist Women. She was also a longtime member of a women&8217;s bridge club and of the Lake Mills Literary Club.
Noreen is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Burdick of Lake Mills, Iowa; son, Bruce and his wife Diane Burdick of Lake Mills, Iowa; daughters, Nancy and her husband Gary White of Independence, Iowa; Mary Nell Fullerton of Mason City, Iowa; three grandsons, Tyler Burdick and Thomas Burdick of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Samuel Fullerton of Mason City, Iowa; sister-in-law Charlotte Vinge of Albert Lea; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duane Vinge.
