Robert Muschler, 83, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Robert Parker Muschler, 83, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, in Aurora, Ill., at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Robert died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at his home.

Robert Parker Muschler was born on Dec. 14, 1924, to Arthur and Florence (Bennett) Muschler in Aurora, Ill. Robert grew up in Illinois and pursued an education receiving his masters in social work. He served in the United States Army during World War II. On Nov. 5, 1955, he married Joan Schmiedeskamp at St. Peter&8217;s Church in Kirkwood, Mo. In 1965, the couple moved to Albert Lea where Robert was employed by Freeborn County Mental Health Center as a psychiatric social worker. Robert was a founding member of both Albert Lea Community Theatre and Minnesota Festival Theatre. He was a past president of and was also the chairman of the building committee working with the city for the Civic Theatre. Robert was a member and past president of the Albert Lea Art Center and a member of the American Pigeon Racing Union.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; children, Jeff Muschler of Winona, Ann (Steve) Brehmer of Deer Park, Wash., Tom (Kay) Muschler of St. Charles, Steve (Patti) Muschler of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Matt Muschler of Mason City, Iowa, and Eric (Karen) Muschler of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Audrey Muschler of Oakbrook, Ill.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Muschler; and sister, Florence Mary Muschler.
