One of the area&8217;s better baseball teams so far this season, the Pat Frank-led Rebels of United South Central, ran its record to 5-3 Monday with a dominating 12-1 win over Bethlehem Academy in Faribault.
Kevin George took the mound for the Rebels and went six innings with six strikeouts while giving up just two hits.
&8220;Kevin did a heck of a job for us today,&8221; said Frank. &8220;I wouldn&8217;t have thought it before the season started, but I think at this point our biggest strength is our depth on the mound.&8221;
The Rebels jumped on B.A.
early and often and led 8-1 after just three innings.
USC collected seven hits in the five inning game but five of those were courtesy of just two Rebels, George and Jake Bonsack.
George went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, five RBI, and two runs scored, while Bonsack went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs.
&8220;We feel pretty good about the way we are playing right now,&8221; Frank said. &8220;Our pitching is really coming around, it&8217;s just consistency at the plate that I&8217;m worried about. It was nice to get the win but we need it to be more than just a two-man show.&8221;
