Adrian Herman, 88, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Adrian G. Herman, 88, of Albert Lea will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theodore&8217;s Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County servicemens organization. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bud died on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center.

Adrian &8220;Bud&8221; Herman was born on March 27, 1920, the son of Louis and Lillian (Zabel) Herman in Minnesota Lake. After his schooling Bud served his country in the US Army during WWII where he received the American Theater Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

On June 24, 1947, Bud was united in marriage to Irene Shellen in Mankato.

Bud&8217;s laundry and dry cleaning career began at Johnson Laundry. He managed Clothing Care Center for the Kahler Corporation. He then owned and operated the Clothing Care Center until his retirement. Bud loved antique tractors, playing cards, working in his yard and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion the VFW and St. Theodore&8217;s Catholic Church.

Bud is survived by his children; Kathie and husband David Herrington, Scotia, N.Y., Patti Freeman and David A. Skogheim, and Jodie and husband Lynn Swenson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Troy Herrington, Scotia, N.Y., Tad Freeman, Toni Freeman and Tracy and her husband Tim Brenegan, all of Albert Lea; brothers: Mel and Lois Herman, Mankato, Ken and Shirley Herman, Rochester; and sister Delores Murphy, Owatonna; and many nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Irene and brothers, Leon and Gene.
