Arlen Hoverson, 78, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Arlen (Duck) Richard Hoverson, 78, of rural Albert Lea will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Round Prairie Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
Arlen died on Friday, May 9, 2008, at his home.
Arlen Richard Hoverson was born on March 26, 1930, in Freeman Township, the son of Henry and Grace (Nagel) Hoverson. He attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On Dec. 24, 1950, Arlen was united in marriage to Leona Lien. He was employed at Interstate Power Company as a chief engineer retiring in 1997.
He also worked for Rudd Motors. Arlen enjoyed animals, working on computers and at one time scuba diving. Arlen had a good sense of humor with his family and many friends. He was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leona, son; Rick and wife Pam Hoverson, Albert Lea; daughter, Char and husband Steve Butterfield, Arizona; grandchildren; Stacey Champion, Zach Hoverson and Sarah Hoverson; great-grandchildren; Leah Simmons, Zane Champion and Zoe McCune; brother, Howard Hoverson, Albert Lea; and sister, Helen and husband Palmer Dagestad, Wisconsin; his golden retriever &8220;Doctor Riley&8221;;
and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents.
