Building permit issued for new lumber business

Over half the valuation for building permits issued by the City of Albert Lea Inspection Department in April was for just one project. This permit with a valuation of $540,000 was for the new Freeborn Lumber Co. location at 971 Plaza Street.
The city issued 35 building permits during April with a valuation of $1,038,398. This increases the total valuation of city-issued permits to $2,223,832 for the first four months of
the year.
At the end of April 2007 the city&8217;s report shows a valuation for permits as $4,223,653.
A permit with a valuation of $180,000 was issued in April for the &8220;interior expansion of bank&8221; at 1414 W. Main St.
Naeve Health Care Association, 414 Fountain St., was issued a permit with a valuation of $90,000 in April which was listed as &8220;concrete pads for oxygen.&8221;
The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued 21 building permits with a listed valuation of $418,154. This increases the total estimated valuation to $1,007,297 for permits issued during the first four months of the year.
One of the county-issued permits was for a new home and three permits were for home additions.
