Errol T. Goodmanson, of

ThorneCrest Retirement Community, Albert Lea, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the age of 90.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Errol was born on April 13, 1918, in Albert Lea, the son of Lewis Herman and Signe Olive Alice (Thorstenson) Goodmanson.

Errol served our country in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945, obtaining a rank of Staff Sargeant. He was united in marriage to Norma Junella Marie Andersen on July 8, 1945. Following their marriage they made their home in Albert Lea.

Errol worked at Wilson & Company, where he served as foreman until retiring after 45 years. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was an avid sports fan especially enjoying golf and being a fan of the Minnesota Twins. Errol was a family man and his life was really all about family and friends.

He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Norma of Albert Lea; three children: son Scott Goodmanson and his wife Ann of Albert Lea, daughter Jane and her husband John Groos of Sioux Falls, S.D., son Jerry Goodmanson and his wife Jean of Cold Spring, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he so enjoyed: Matthew (Sarah) Goodmanson and daughter Lily of Seattle, Wash., Erik Goodmanson and his fianc/ Deborah Elliot of Napa, Calif., Brent (Heather) Groos and children Gavin and Griffin of Sioux Falls, S.D., Brian (Suzi) Groos of Aurora, Colo.,

and children Krysten and Talyn, Brooke (Joshua) Parks and children Audrey and Benjamin of Cold Spring, and Brianne Goodmanson of Maui, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
