Glenville-Emmons boys and girls golf get wins

The Glenville-Emmons girls&8217; golf team defeated Mabel-Canton Monday 270-314 behind yet another standout performance by senior Jenny Johnson.

Johnson garnered medalist honors with a 53 and a threesome of sophomores followed with quality scores for the second win of the season for the squad.

Brianna Nelson shot a 69 to lead the sophomores and Reina Saltou followed with a 73. April Davies added a 75 for the Wolverines in

a 34 stroke victory.

&8220;They were hitting their drives and putting very well,&8221; assistant coach Jeff Finholm said. &8220;They&8217;re really charged.&8221;

The boys&8217; team won by a slimmer margin Monday, eight strokes, against Mabel-Canton in a 210-218 victory.

It was the first win of the season for Glenville-Emmons the team.

All four Wolverine scorers were within one stroke of each other.

Freshman David Knudson led the way and earned medalist honors with a 51 while sophomore Josh Minear had a 52, sophomore Cody Huston had a 53 and junior Nick Golbuff had a 55.

&8220;It&8217;s really great to have a consistent performance as well as they did,&8221; Finholm said.
