Richard R. Nelson, age 66 of Elysian, and Fairview, Texas, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Elysian and Fairview; two sons, Greg (Lisa) Nelson of Dallas, and Scott (Peggy) Nelson of Golden Valley; three grandchildren, Courtney (Patrick) Wilkins, Jack Nelson and Cate Nelson; mother-in-law, Ruth Nelson of Waterville; brother-in-law, Vern (Linda) Nelson of Waterville; nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. Visitation will also be held an hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society.
