‘Academic porn’ isn’t what God favors

The Minnesota House passed a bill mandating the public schools adopt sex education as part of the curriculum. But what does a prominent nationally-known historian, David Barton, say about “academic porn” (comprehensive sex education) that’s taught to students? It “takes an approach in which no morals — no rights or wrongs are presented. Instead students are told all the various possibilities of what can be done sexually … In essence, students are told, ‘It’s your sexual life — live it as you choose! Do not let anyone tell you what is right or wrong. Do what is sexually pleasurable for you.’”
Barton concludes: “Currently, for every 1,000 girls in public schools who go through a comprehensive sex education curriculum, 113 become pregnant. However, in some of the abstinence curriculum, for every 1,000 girls in pubic schools who go through that curriculum only four become pregnant. This is a dramatic statistical difference, but it is because of inclusion of the basic religious principles which teach traditional morality and self-control.”
Since “academic porn” trashes God’s holy, righteous principles, students lose sight of his warning. “Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness.” (I Timothy 2:22) Let’s face these shameful, undeniable facts: “Academic porn” is a live, moral grenade that’s hurled into the spirit, soul, and body of students; it utterly destroys any sense of decency and modesty and, consequently, their consciences of right and wrong as well. It’s no wonder we have a diseased, messed-up, sex-crazed society.
Proverbs 28:10 warns, “He who leads the upright astray in an evil way will himself fall into his own pit.” What don’t you understand? Educators, trash that evil way and act responsibly. Teach abstinence until marriage!
Students, act wisely! Don’t choose “safe” sex and be cursed with Satan’s worst. Sex and marriage go together, so choose abstinence until marriage and be blessed with God’s best.
