Come, relax and enjoy patriotic music on July 4 at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. At 4:30 p.m. music of American composers will tell the story of our country’s history. You will hear “Paul Revere’s Ride” and experience “The Battle of Trenton” with George Washington crossing the Delaware. You will tap your toes to the tune of “Yankee Doodle,” “The Star Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful,” “The Marine’s Hymn,” and several Scott Joplin Rags will round out the program. You will want to wave your flags and clap your hands to a rousing piano duet of John Philip Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Performers at the concert will be Gail Thurnau, Deb Stolarcek, Marilyn Chafee and Eileen Nelson Ness. The Methodist church is air-conditioned and handicap accessible. The concert is free, open to the public, and is approximately an hour in length.
Root beer floats will be served prior to the concert beginning at 4 p.m.
