The first Kiester Days’ Cribbage Tournament was held June 21 at the Kiester American Legion with 22 people participating.
Players came from Bricelyn, Wells, Blue Earth, Kiester and Forest City, Iowa, to see if they could beat their opponents in the game of skill and chance.
The first place winner was from Blue Earth with 13 game points, second place was Jeff Passer of Kiester with 12 game points, third place was Kevin Massey of Kiester with 11 game points, and fourth place was Art Stenzel of Wells with 11 game points.
Organizers Benny Scherb and Roger Oldfather were quite pleased to see this many participants in this first-time event held during Kiester Days and are hopeful for even more participants in future events.
Other cribbage tournaments are held during the year by Oldfather and Scherb at the Kiester American Legion in Kiester. Those wishing more information may contact them by calling (507) 294-3440 or (507) 294-3133.
