Lake Mills owns fourth place

It was just a matter of a little confidence and a little rest for the Lake Mills baseball team Monday in its 7-1 win over Belmond-Klemme.
The victory put the Bulldogs (15-12 overall, 6-5 NIC) in sole possession of fourth place in the conference and has given them an opportunity to further climb the standings this week with games against North Iowa, a team they already defeated 3-1 and second-place Garner-Hayfield Friday.
“It was just a matter of confidence,” Lake Mills head coach Jason Blaser said. “I’ve been telling the guys that if our defense plays like they can and the pitchers pitch like they can, we’re going to be a tough team.”
