Marion Ross has given city reasons to rejoice

It has come to my attention through my recent reading that some of Marion Ross’ contributions to our community are in question. I think it is time we took a moment to reflect on a few of the things that she has given us.
She has given us a reason to celebrate! With a day dedicated just to her and her inclusion in our beloved Eddie Cochran Weekend, she has indeed become an important part of our Albert Lea celebrations. I couldn’t think of a better person to celebrate than someone who has worked hard all of their life to perform to the best of their abilities and to become a positive role model.
She has given us a new name for our theater! I couldn’t think of a better way to name our theater than after a famous actress from our town. It might help it get more attention, too.
Most importantly, Marion has given us a sense of pride! No better gift could be given to a community than a reason to rally together and even boast a little about what good things we have here. We have a wonderful and unique city, and she is only one of our many positive representatives.
I think it’s time we started focusing on the all of the positive instead of the negative. What a place this could be if we all would strive to make such contributions to our hometown! I also know that there are others besides myself who are very appreciative that we have been given by this wonderful lady, and we feel we are truly blessed to call her one of our own. Thanks for everthing, Marion!
