Betty Salzmann

Betty (Arends) Salzmann passed away in Seal Beach, Calif., on June 27, 2008, after a long illness. Mrs. Salzmann was born April 19, 1930, in Faribault County. She was a 1947 graduate of Wells High School and was a long time resident of Wells, working at the Wells Hospital in the medical records department. Betty had also lived in Alaska, Nevada and southern California in the later years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Salzmann, her parents, Mabel and George Arends, her brother Orville Arends, her sister Dolores Arends and Donna Arends (Carrol Arends), her sister-in-law. Her nieces Nancy Sutton and Shelly Arends also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Trudy Redford (Denys Redford, deceased 1994) of Pinetop, Ariz., and Toni Sonenszajn (Sam Sonenszajn) of Huntington Beach, Calif. Her granddaughter Trina Buan (Jennis Buan) of Reno, Nev., and great-grandchildren Tristen and Kyra also survive her. In addition she is survived by Lowell and Marlys Arends (brother and sister-in-law) of Hayfield, Carrol Arends (brother) of Albert Lea and Norma Arends (sister-in-law)of Hayfield, plus several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Wells later this year with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Wells. Her daughters request that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in honor of their mother, Betty Salzmann.
