Ellendale Days starts today, runs through Sunday

Ellendale Days this year will be filled with the popular music, food and activities of previous years. From Thursday through Sunday the days will be filled with lots of events for the whole family to enjoy.
The Ellendale Liquor Store street dance kicks off Thursday 6 to 10 p.m. with Luverne’s Concertina. From 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. rock ’n’ roll will fill the city with a ’50s and ’60s band Friday and Bad Monkey returning Saturday.
New this year is a Guitar Hero competition Friday night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Methodist Youth will be hosting a taco supper from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
The Ellendale-Geneva Area Sportsmen’s Club will have food available during the street dance Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
During the summer festival, the Ellendale Lions Club will host a T-ball tournament Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The group will also host a dunk tank all three days from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Locals will be able to soak their favorite volunteer into a large tub of water, but only if their aim is good.
Beginning at noon Saturday, there will be a Texas Hold’em Tournament at Ellendale Liquor Store. Saturday will also bring a parade down Main Street at 4 p.m. A kiddie tractor pull will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and a teen dance will follow from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Sunday kicks off with a breakfast hosted by the Lions Club from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aiden’s church will be holding a rummage and bake sale from 7 a.m. to noon. At noon their will be a tractor pull and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a classic car show.
Ellendale is located north on Interstate 35 from Albert Lea, in Steele County. Take exit 26 onto state Highway 30, which becomes Main Street.
