Herberger’s, others hold bridal registry event

Bridal shows and events are often held in the late winter or early spring in time to catch the May and June weddings. But for the fall and winter brides and grooms, all the preparation that was made during the early events could get lost in the jumble of planning a wedding.
That is why Herberger’s is holding its annual late summer registry event. Now through Sunday, brides and grooms can register in store with gift registry experts, meet with local wedding service vendors and have the chance to win free gifts.
“We wanted to give the fall brides and winter brides an opportunity to come in and see what we have and see what other vendors have,” said Lory Petersen, a sales manager for the home, accessories and ready-to-wear departments in the Albert Lea store.
To set up a bridal registry appointment call Herberger’s at 373-2381, although an appointment is not necessary.
Wedding service vendors on hand this weekend — and giving away prizes — are Ben’s Floral & Frame Design, Celebrations Party & Gifts, Courtly Manor, Foto Factory, Leuthold’s and Sugar Chic Cake Designs.
Just by registering for wedding gifts, couples will receive Herberger’s deluxe wedding planner to stay organized through the crazy wedding planning process, the July/August issue of Bridal Guide magazine and signature services by the Estée Lauder makeup counter to help the bride achieve her perfect wedding day look.
Brides to be and couples are invited to stop by the store any time it is open this weekend. Petersen said bridal consultants will be available to help people register for gifts any time that is convenient.
She said registering for wedding gifts is important because “people like to give a gift that the couple would like to have. This just gives wedding guests a really good selection.”
To be eligible for the prizes — which include gift certificates, a photography package, a bridal bouquet and a necklace set — people must register by 6 p.m. Sunday. Herberger’s held similar events in February and last July.
