Library begins podcasting

Albert Lea Public Library has begun recording with approximately 20 volunteers for the new program Classics On-the-Go.
Book-lovers of all ages have signed up and will be reading classics such as “Jemima Puddle Duck,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “The Velveteen Rabbit” and more.
Volunteers are excited to participate in the program. Some are signing up to read as mother-daughter teams and others are thrilled that long-distance family members will be able to listen to them read a story.
Everyone is invited to enjoy these classics by visiting the library’s Web site, www.alplonline.org.
These podcasts can be played directly from a computer or downloaded onto a personal listening device such as an iPod. A new story will be available for download weekly.
Current events and activities will also be featured in individual podcasts.
The library is still accepting volunteers. Anyone interested in learning more about this program may pick up a volunteer application at the circulation desk.
