Mildred Roberts

Mildred Davis Roberts, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., formerly of Albert Lea, died June 15, 2008.
Mildred was a graduate of Macalaster College, St. Paul, with a master’s degree in social work from Smith College, North Hampton, Mass. Her career included casework with Minneapolis Family and Children’s Service, teaching at Lea College, Albert Lea, and she retired as chief of clinical services at Gerard Schools, Austin.
She was active in several civic organizations including the League of Women Voters and American Association of University Women. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea, and was active in PEO.
Mildred is survived by her children, Warren Roberts (Mary), Carl Roberts (Carol) and Mary Jane Roberts; five grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. Her husband of 61 years predeceased her by 11 months.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at First Presbyterian Church, 308 Water St., Albert Lea.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help research cystic fibrosis in honor of her great-granddaughter, Madilyn Ann Roberts, who was diagnosed with the disease shortly after her birth in November 2006.
