Nashville artist to appear at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center

Nashville artist Donna Chapel will be bring her show to the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in Albert Lea at 7:30 p.m. July 11. A dinner is being offered at the American Legion before the show. Tickets for dinner and show are $17.50 and $10 for the show only. Tickets are available at the American Legion in Albert Lea; call 373-7993 for ticket information.
Chapel comes from a family of some of country music’s finest musicians. She was a stepdaughter of Tammy Wynette and sang harmony on some of Wynette’s greatest songs, including “I Don’t Want to Play House,” “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad,” and “D-I-V-O-R-C-E.” Chapel was also on tour with Wynette for many years.
Chapel’s father is Don Chapel. Several of his songs have been recorded by other country and rock artists like Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, David Houston, Jack Green, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Louvin, Lynn Anderson, George Jones, Melba Montgomery, Webb Pierce, the Osborne Brothers, Ernest Tubb, Johnny Paycheck, Johnny Bush, Ray Price, and many others. He is the brother of the late Jean Chapel, the “queen of rock-a-billy.”
Donna Chapel has performed on TNN and her video of “Country Man” was voted No. 1 New Artist Video for three weeks. She has appeared at the Grand Ole Opry as well as You Can Be a Star and Video Country.
Chapel’s repertoire includes country music classic and heart-warming songs that can make you laugh and cry. Each show includes a patriotic tribute including her hit song, “My Name is Freedom.”
