Here are local and area highlights in history for July 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — Albert Lea’s motion picture palace was known as Mall 3 and located in the Northbridge Mall. Admission prices were advertised as $3 and $5.
1983 — The space in the Skyline Mall previously used by the Montgomery Ward store was being renovated into space for 18 stores and shops.
1973 — The Albert Lea American Legion baseball team defeated a team from South Hamilton , Iowa, with a score of 3-0 in a game played at Hayek Field.
