911 dispatchers have high service standards

In the Tuesday, Aug. 5, issue of the Albert Lea Tribune, I read Mr. Rich Mirelli’s comments in regard to an E-911 dispatcher that was less than helpful. As the supervisor for the Albert Lea/Freeborn County E-911 Communications Center staff, the comments concerned me and prompted me to look into the matter further.
I have contacted Mr. Mirelli to obtain more information on the call he had placed. I was able to determine that his call was not received by the Freeborn County E-911 operators, and was also able to determine the agency that had received his call. Mr. Mirelli’s complaint has been forwarded to the responsible agency with a request for an appropriate response. I want to assure residents of Freeborn County that any complaints received regarding our department members will be investigated to the fullest extent possible. We welcome your direct feedback to assist in maintaining the high-level service standard expected and provided by the members of our department.
Freeborn County has a great team of 911 dispatchers responsible for all emergency and non-emergency calls and radio traffic in Freeborn County. We are proud of the quality of service they deliver.
