Approximately 800 students participate annually in the University of Wisconsin-Stout Cooperative Education Program that integrates college studies with work experience in industry, business, government or public service, according to Amy Lane, coordinator of UW-Stout’s Cooperative Education Program.
Students who participate in the Cooperative Education Program develop employment contacts, interpersonal skills and career goals in addition to applying learned educational theory to the work setting. Under the program, students leave campus for a period of up to one year to work nationally or internationally.
