AUSTIN — Gloria J. Branden, 61, of Albert Lea, received minor injuries when her vehicle ran off Interstate 90 east of Austin and caught fire just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The 2002 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Branden was west bound on I-90 near the State Highway 56 exit when it ran off the road to the left, overcorrected and rolled into the ditch, the report said.

Assisting at the scene was the Austin Police Department and Mower County Sheriff’s Office.

Man arrested for DWI

David Paul Farnes, 46, was arrested for third degree DWI at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, according to reports. Farnes was stopped at Newton Avenue and East Second Street after reports of yelling and windows being broken at 405 Columbus Ave., according to reports.

Damage reported to Lakeview Elem.

Damage was reported at Lakeview Elementary School. According to police reports, over the last week the fence, basketball hoop and a sign have been damaged.
