The employees of Freeborn County are again organizing their fundraiser for the benefit of the United Way of Freeborn County United Way. “Lunch on the lawn” of the Freeborn County Courthouse will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a rain date of Aug. 13.
County employees donate their time for this annual event, which will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, baked beans, salads, chips, cookies, and pop on the lawn area of the courthouse. Last year’s event served more than 350 people, which raised a large amount of money for the United Way campaign.
Freewill donations are accepted and the public is invited to attend!
Many area businesses or individuals have graciously donated their own products, supplies or monies for this worthy cause, including:
Diamond Jo Casino, Mrs. Gerry’s, Comfort Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce, Hy-Vee Food Store, Nelson’s Market Place, Wal-Mart, Culligan, Scott Fadden, Krieger Beverage, Bonnerup Funeral Service, and Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
Freeborn County employees continue their fundraising efforts to contribute needed funds toward local charitable organizations, giving up their free time to do what they can for the people of Freeborn County.
If anyone has questions about this event or would like to volunteer their own time to help, contact Holly Krier at 377-5277 at the Freeborn County Public Health office.
Volunteers are needed for set-up, grilling, serving, accepting donations and cleanup/take-down.
