People need to dispose of their litter properly

I am a walker and part of my walk is the beautiful new trail that begins at the Brookside Park boat landing. I have been very disappointed at the amount of trash that is being left there in spite of four trash cans close by. There are a group of young people who congregate there in the early evening hours with their vehicles and have their social time. The trash is left in the area where they park. This would be fine as it is a nice place to spend some time, but why is it so difficult to put their trash in the trash cans? Every morning when I start my walk, I pick up their trash because I don’t like how awful it looks. Maybe there should be a “No Littering” sign put up. But they probably wouldn’t see that either.

I have called the city office to let them know the times I have seen vehicles on the path, and that the city should put some type of gate on the trail that only city workers could open. It would be tragic if there would be any damage done here. Along the same line, some people who walk their dogs, obviously let them do their “business” right on the trail! Disgusting!
