Permit issued for new additions at Select Foods

A building permit with a valuation of $960,000 has been issued by the city to Hormel Foods Corp., 2410 Y.H. Hanson Ave. This July permit is listed for a 30-by-70-foot cafeteria addition and a 65-by-78-foot locker room addition at Select Foods.
This is one of 59 building permits issued by the city’s inspection department during July. The listed valuation for those permits is $1,868,764. This increases the total valuation for permits during the first seven months of the year to $7,806,974.
At the end of July 2007 the city’s report shows a total valuation of $17,509,905 for building permits issued.
Two July permits have been issued for projects at Sibley Elementary School, 1501 W. Front St. One permit with a valuation of $206,911 is for a new roof. A second permit with a valuation of $53,300 is for the installation of a fire sprinkler system.
A permit with a valuation of $198,852 was issued to Streater Inc., 411 S. First Ave., for a new roofing project.
The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued 23 building permits with a listed valuation of $417,029. This increases the estimated valuation for county-issued permits to $4,522,890 for the first seven months of the year.
Four of the county building permits issued during July were for home additions.
