Thunderstorm drops rain on area

Weather blew through Thursday evening, dropping a half inch of rain between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., however the Albert Lea Wastewater Treatment Plant recorded .11 inches of rain. According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms were in the vicinity before 5 p.m. At 5:15 p.m., northeast winds were 15 mph with gusts at 24 mph, according to the National Weather Service. After 6:30 p.m. the rest of the night was clear and cool with air temperatures in the low 60s.
