There is never really a good time to catch the Rochester Mayo girls’ tennis team, especially right after the team climbed to No. 1 in the state poll after defeating Edina last week.

The Albert Lea girls’ tennis team lost 0-7 to Mayo in Rochester Thursday, but was able to compete in some spots.

At No. 1 doubles Sarah Wenum and Kelli Hanson lost 4-6, 0-6, Alarie Maras and Mikaela Pierson lost 2-6, 0-6 at No. 2 doubles, and Michelle Hartmann lost 0-6, 2-6 at No. 2 singles. The Tigers won only one other game besides those and that game came at No. 3 doubles from Erika Blickenderfer and Kellsie Dieser who fell 0-6, 1-6.
