Funeral services for Yvonne L. (Bonnie) Muri of Geneva will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry. The Rev. Swamy will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Ellendale and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery.
Bonnie died Saturday morning at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland. She was 75 years of age.
Bonnie was born May 16, 1933, in Geneva, the daughter of Earl C. and Sarah L. (Kiley) Lawson. She attended public school in Ellendale and Geneva.
On Sept. 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Maynard Muri at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry.
Bonnie worked for many years as a waitress at various restaurants in the Geneva area. She was a member of the St Mary’s Catholic Church and had been a resident of the Geneva area most of her life.
Bonnie enjoyed bowling, gardening and attending the children’s and grand children’s sporting events.
She is survived by her children: Susan Richards and her husband Dan of Geneva, Deborah Bohnhoff and her husband Jim of Nerstrand and Brian Muri and his wife Pamela of Geneva. There are six grandchildren: Tomm Richards and his wife Tara of North Mankato, Brett Richards and his wife Jessica of Albert Lea, Tony Muri of Geneva, Mandi Johannsen and her husband Darrin of New Richland, and Erik Bohnhoff and Mari Bohnhoff, both of Nerstrand. Great-grandchildren include: Tristan, Taya, Torey and Tiegen Richards, Maxx and Maya Richards, and Gabrielle Muri and Treyvin Johannsen. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Maynard; sisters, Alice Halter and Judy Thompson; and brother, Gerald Lawson.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
