3 injured in viaduct crash

A driver and two children were injured when a sport-utility vehicle crashed Monday morning into the West Main Street viaduct over a Union Pacific railroad. The type and extent of the injuries are unknown. It happened near 9:30 a.m. An ambulance transported the three people to Albert Lea Medical Center. The black Ford Explorer XLT was headed east on Main Street when it went up on the curb and then struck the south abutment of the bridge. Albert Lea firefighters, police officers and medical personnel responded. Main Street was shut down for about 45 minutes.
Man slashes tires
A man was reportedly seen slashing two tires at 1908 Bridge Ave. at 9:14 a.m. Monday, according to reports. Reports indicated the man left right after slashing the tires.
LaFavre check bounces
A person who received a $5,000 check from developer Scott LaFavre reported to authorities at 8:50 a.m. Monday that the check bounced, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Damage reported to wall
Damage was reported to a retaining wall on River Road in Glenville at 9:12 a.m. Monday, police reports stated.
Damage reported to car
Damage was reported to a car in the parking lot at 430 Bridge Ave. at 2:49 p.m. Monday.
Woman cited for failure to yield
Sharon Dempewolf, 51, was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian at 3:57 p.m. Monday after a bike versus car wreck near the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and East College Street.
