Jeshua Erickson and Kelly Callahan host the new chess club every Thursday at Thorne Crest from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no charge to join. Erickson and Callahan said people don’t have to come to play every week if they don’t want to, it’s more of a social chess atmosphere. They are open to teaching people who don’t know how to play and in the future would like to get involved with the schools.
