Is Salon a magazine about beauty parlors?

In his letter to the editor, printed on Sept. 7, Ted Hinnencamp cites the Republican Party’s manipulative, deceitful and dishonest attacks. To back up his views he uses the writings of an unknown writer named Glenn Greenwald in some publication named Salon. Once wonders if the publication is a trade publication for beauty parlors.
The other party seems to be content to sit back and let the printed media do their attacking for them. Witness the column by Garrison Keillor just below Mr. Hinnencamp’s letter. Also the series of scurrilous cartoons printed in the Tribune this past week against Gov. Sarah Palin and her family. One would almost expect to have seen a cartoon ridiculing the Palin’s Down syndrome baby.
