Left-wing media is unfairly attacking Palin

I would like to respond to Mr. Ted Hinnenkamp’s letter in Sunday’s Tribune, “Gov. Palin displays ‘cheerful viciousness’.” Who is he trying to kid? Here is a woman whose entire family has been the subject of an all-out assault by the media ever since it was announced that she would be the running mate of Sen. John McCain.
The truth of the matter is that the left wing fringe of the Democratic Party is terrified of McCain’s choice for his running mate. She is an intelligent and accomplished governor with a record of true reform, including the weeding out of corruption in her own party. She has an 80 percent approval rating as governor of Alaska and is the epitomy of true feminism. She is a successful career woman, loving wife and hockey mom. She loves and values human life as the mother of five children including her baby who has Down syndrome.
So why is it that the press has had more questions leveled at Sarah Palin’s pregnant 17-year-old daughter in one week then they did about Sen. Barack Obama’s ties to the unrepentant Pentagon and U.S. Capitol bomber William Ayers over the last 19 months? The left-wing media has truly exposed their bias for the Obama-Biden ticket.
It is refreshing to see that most of this nation didn’t buy it. In fact, the attack on Gov. Palin and her family only endeared the American people to them. She is one of us. Many political commentators from both sides believe that the conservative base could now be energized to support the McCain presidency with the choice of Gov. Palin as his running mate.
It now remains to be seen if the left has awakened a “sleeping giant “ and dealt a blow to Sen. Obama’a chances to become president.
