Tribune photographs smacked of favoritism

I was very disappointed with the front page of the paper Wednesday, Sept. 10. I thought it was inappropriate of the Tribune to have most of the front page filled with a large picture of mayoral candidate Mike Murtaugh, husband of Geri McShane, assistant editor. You stated that McShane had no role in the story, but it still smacked of favoritism. Please be more careful in the future.

Editor’s note: Our photographer went to the Freeborn County Government Center to shoot photos of candidates watching results come in. It is not the Tribune’s fault if only Murtaugh was there and his opponent was not.
