The organizers for the 23rd Annual Alden Holiday Craft Fair have started to gear up and make plans for their upcoming show set for Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in both gyms of the Alden-Conger School. This event brings may crafters to the two gyms of the school with holiday crafts, handmade clothing items, woodworks, dolls, needlework, home preserved goods and many other handcrafted pieces.

As always, the best baked goods available can be found at this annual event and include delicious breads, cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, candies, bars and other specialty items that will tempt people even with the best will power.  Some crafters will have free taste samples for you to try!

It’s not to soon to start shopping for the holidays and you’re sure to find some delightful and creative items to fill those Christmas stockings or to gift a family member, loved one or friend this Christmas.

Crafters have been stocking up their inventory and making sure they have plenty on hand for the large number of customers that attend this annual event.  Some will even take orders for specific craft items in a certain dolor, design or style, and can have them completed, just in time for holiday giving.  There is always a large variety of home décor pieces to change the look and appearance of your home for the fall, winter, or holiday season…or just to add a new, decorative touch to any room of your home.

The set-up time for exhibitors begins on Friday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 8. until the 9 a.m. opening of the craft fair.  As always, there is no admission fee for visitors, who will have until 2 p.m. to browse the tables in the large and small gyms of the school.  They can enjoy treats and snacks available throughout the day, including rolls and coffee.  A noon meal will also be served by the local Legion Auxiliary group. You can register for one of the many door prizes, which will be given away every half hour of the event.

The annual event is sponsored by the Alden American Legion Auxiliary and raises much-needed funds, which are donated to local groups, for school projects and other needy organizations which benefit the surrounding community and it residents.
