The citywide “Biggest Loser” contest has some new leaders from last week’s weigh-in.

Dick Madson has taken over the first place position with a 26.4 pound total weight loss which gives him a 10.8 percent total weight loss. Mindy Christiansen was bumped from her first place position with 9.2 percent of her weight lost, and Vaughn Avery is holding his third place position with a 9.1 percent weight loss or a total of 34 pounds lost. Worth mentioning is Dick’s wife, Faye Madson, who has rose to fourth position with a 6.3 percent weight loss. Dick and Faye must be eating at the same table to bring in numbers like that. Prizes for the weigh-in were put together by Lakeside Dairy, GNC, Blake’s Body Shop and Movie Gallery.

Teamwise the Avery team is dropping pounds every where you look. As a team they have lost 82.4 pounds, and they are maintaining their first place position. Second place is Mindy Christiansen’s team with a 5.8 percent loss or a 45.2 pound combined weight loss. Another member of the Avery Family is on Mindy’s team, so they could be a team to keep your eye on. The Cargill Girls were bumped from their second place position to third place with a combined weight loss of 54.2 pounds or 4.6 percent.

Upcoming events include Friday’s physical challenge at 5:30 p.m. and the Freeborn County Fairgrounds Grandstand Challenge.
