Funeral services for Carol Lois Morgan, age 79, of Conger will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Conger. The Rev. Gary Hanson will officiate. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Carol died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Carol Lois Morgan was born on Aug. 12, 1929, to Ora and Esther (Kraushaar) Krause in Albert Lea. Carol attended country school in the Conger area. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Morgan on Oct. 19, 1947, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. She was a lifetime resident of the Conger area. Carol worked at the Conger Merchantile, the Conger Café and Built Rite. She was an active member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Pricilla Circle and the Conger Auxiliary. Carol enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; children, Doreen and husband, Burt Doyle, and John and wife, Sandy Morgan; grandchildren, Marshall and wife, Jill Doyle, and Kelly and wife, Lisa Doyle; great-grandchildren, Blake Doyle, Brett Doyle, Daryan Doyle and Isabelle Doyle; brother, Roger and wife, Betty Krause; sister-in-law, Lois and husband, Joe Bice; brother-in-law, Donald and wife, Gladys Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Esther Krause.
