Soap bars deliver hope

Daisy Blue Naturals, an Albert Lea-based company, recently donated over $3,500 to Kids Inspire Kids, an outreach program designed to provide education, food, medical assistance, and music to underprivileged youth in Uganda, Africa.
Daisy Blue Naturals CEO and founder, Jena Thompson, said the mission of K.I.K is what immediately inspired her. “I was searching for an organization that would put the money raised to use on the mission, not on overhead expenses. One of our company’s independent consultants introduced us to K.I.K. and I was immediately moved by their work.”
The Shea Butter Bar program donates 10 percent of the net profits of each Shea Butter soap bar sold. In addition, each bar comes with a one of a kind Banda Bracelet, made from recycled paper beads the women of the area create.
“Not only do the donations help fund literacy and mentoring programs, but the making of the beads helps clean up their environment. We’re helping a portion of Africa in the ‘Going Green’ movement!” Thompson said.
Daisy Blue Naturals offers its truly natural skin care and mineral makeup line through over 1,400 consultants nationwide.
