The Salvation Army struggles with demand

The demand is great as the Christmas season edges near.
As the economy weakens a significant increase in those seeking assistance is causing the shelves in the food pantry to empty quickly. The Salvation Army appreciates those who are coordinating seasonal food drives. The need is great.
The “Our Daily Bread” meal program is a huge success. The number of meals closes in on an average of 75 each Wednesday. The intention of the program is to build a stronger community and success is seen in the eyes of everyone that attends this community meal.
The Salvation Army kettle season is just around the corner. Salvation Army volunteers are getting all the bells tuned and the kettles dusted off. The success of this season directly impacts the quantity and quality of programming and services for the coming year. Volunteers are encouraged to contact the Salvation Army to sign up to ring the bells. The Salvation Army can be reached at 373-5710.
